Van Beales

Van is a teacher of mathematics and has a passion for reading and problem solving.

She started her teaching career at Invicta Grammar School in 2006 and became Executive Headteacher at SST Maidstone in September 2020 and Headteacher at Invicta Grammar School in 2021. She is now Executive Headteacher for both schools.

Van believes firmly in the value of education as an investment in the future for all students. For her, supporting students to achieve the best outcome to improve their life chances is as important as teaching them to develop themselves into young people with the mental resilience to take on the world. 

Van thinks collaboration among colleagues is key to making work fun and enjoyable. She constantly looks for opportunities for staff to collaborate within school, the Trust and beyond.

Before becoming a teacher, Van worked in journalism and was once a radio presenter at BBC World Service. In her spare time, she reads and completes numerous sudoku puzzles!
