Valley Park students selected for Maidstone Young Artist Award exhibition
Artworks by 7 Valley Park students have been selected to be a part of the Maidstone Young Artist Award exhibition.
Year 9 students James, Matilda, Rosemary and Isla, year 10 students Finley and Jake, and year 11 student Hannah, will all have their pieces exhibited at Maidstone Museum between Saturday 30 April and Saturday 9 July 2022.
'I'm very happy my work has been selected for display in the museum,' said Hannah. 'I'm also very excited to see it displayed and show friends and family.'
'I feel really proud about my work being displayed in the museum,' said Finley. 'I'm also excited for people to see and experience my work. I hope people enjoy it.'
Thanks to the generosity of The Arts Society Mid Kent, students’ work can be framed, mirror plated and mounted on the wall.
The judging panel, led by Lord Sackville of Knole House, Sevenoaks, will meet just before the preview of the exhibition on Friday 29 April. Students and their families will be invited to attend the preview, where prizes will be awarded to the winners.
'I'm incredibly proud of our students for achieving this,' said Head of Art, Miss Hider. 'I cannot wait to see their work displayed for our local community!'
Congratulations to our young artists!
