New playground equipment at Valley Invicta Primary School at East Borough
A project to raise £19,500 for new Key Stage 1 playground equipment at one of our schools - Valley Invicta Primary School at East Borough - came to a happy ending this week, when children used the new play structures for the first time.
The campaign to raise the money took three years, with a variety of events, including quizzes and seasonal fayres, held by the school’s PTA, as well as significant contributions from a local company, and from our Trust.
Headteacher, Carole Bacon, said: “It has been a joy to see so many excited, happy children this week! It has been wonderful to watch the children's faces as they whizz down the slide, challenge themselves on the climbing wall and slide down the fireman's pole.
“We would like to thank all the past and present members of the PTA who have organised events that have raised money to put towards this project, Valley Invicta Academies Trust for their financial contribution, and all the parents and children who have supported our fundraising events over the last few years. We are absolutely thrilled to see this project come to fruition!”
