Fractured Fairy Tales - our winners!
Following scores of brilliant submissions and much deliberation, we are delighted to announce the winners of the Fractured Fairy Tales competition.
- Primary Category - Taylor Wilson, Valley Invicta Primary School at Leybourne Chase
- Secondary Category - Henry Baigent, School of Science and Technology Maidstone
A panel of judges across the Valley Invicta Academies Trust (VIAT) schools read over 100 entries and whittled them down to a shortlist for each category. The winning stories were then chosen by VIAT's CEO, Julie Derrick.
Mrs Derrick said: "The standard was exceptionally high which made the decision very difficult but both Taylor and Henry's stories were outstanding in terms of their writing, content and closeness to the brief we gave. They should be very proud and we hope they enjoy spending their prizes. Well done!"
The competition asked pupils from across all the VIAT schools to write their own 200-word story which took a classic fairy tale and added a twist, changed characters, or made it more modern.
